Bump!

Maybe it's just me, but as soon as I found out that I was pregnant I felt like I LOOKED more and more pregnant every day!
Honestly, it was hard at first to watch my body change so much.  I was constantly comparing what I looked like to other pregnant women. It didn't help that my OB was (and still is) really strict about weight gain and has no problem telling you that you are gaining too much weight too quickly. However, after a few months of obsessing over the weight gain, I decided that stressing over it was more unhealthy for the baby than putting on an extra 5 pounds.  I'm healthy, continue to work out and eat (mostly) healthy and my baby is healthy.

I love this bump! Honestly, being pregnant is great. I love feeling him move and watching Trevor's face as he feels his son move. I've recently been able to see him move- which totally freaked me out the first few times to see my stomach move like that! But now I could sit and watch him all day. I usually lay in bed in the mornings and watch him move for about 30 minutes before getting up. It's fascinating!

We're having a....

Let's just start this post by posting a picture from our 10 week ultrasound!

How cute! I'd like to say that those are legs, but they don't form that early. They sure looks like legs though!

Alright, can I just say... science is amazing! When we went to our 12 weeks appointment, my OB told us about this fancy new test they were offering. Just a simple blood test would tell us if our baby has any genetic disorders and the gender of our baby.  And best of all, it was free! Hmmm... wait 4 more weeks to find out the gender through ultrasound, or find out 4 weeks early?
Now I admit, finding out through a blood test wasn't as exciting as seeing it on an ultrasound, but I'm not a patient person, I wasn't waiting 4 more LOOONG weeks!
We did the blood test and a few days later we had the results back!
We are having a perfectly healthy BOY!
Both Trevor and I were completely shocked! He has been convinced since the day we got married that we would have all girls. I don't know why he thought that...maybe he was just preparing himself just incase. So... I was also convinced that we were having a girl. Maybe this is why we don't do a lot of gambling when we are in Vegas. We suck at betting!

I have to admit, because it was a blood test, I wasn't completely convinced. So I was anxious for our 20 week ultrasound to confirm the blood test results. And sure enough... BOY!

We are beyond thrilled! Trevor has bought him a few Under Armour shirts to match daddy, and of course his first Utes onesie for football season.
Once again, science is AMAZING! It boggles my mind that at our 20 week ultrasound they were able to see our little guys kidneys, measure his brain, look at the chambers of his heart, make sure his spine was developing correctly... all by ultrasound. It's fascinating.

I love this little guy!

Baby Update

Not only are Trevor and I expecting our first baby... but because I suck at blogging and am ridiculously behind - we are already more than half way there! As of today, we are 27 weeks and 4 days- this little one will be here in 12 weeks!

20 week ultrasound

Hopefully I don't jinx myself by saying this, but I have been fortunate enough to have a really good pregnancy. My Rheumatoid Arthritis has thankfully gone into remission, and I feel better than ever. I wish I could stay pregnant forever (minus the getting incredibly huge part) just for the sake of having healthy and painless joints!

There were a handful of days in the first trimester where I had morning sickness, and one incident where I literally threw up out of nowhere in the middle of Harmons (thankfully that hasn't been a regular symptom).  But for the most part I haven't had ANY signs or symptoms of pregnancy.

Most importantly, baby is growing healthy and strong!

Building Our Future

It seems like Trevor and I have been house hunting forever! After many many many discussions, we decided that we were going to build in Herriman. In the beginning, I was very against living so far west. In fact, the first few times Trevor forced me we drove out there, I complained the entire time about how far away it was, and how we were wasting our time. However, after we drove through Herriman Towne Center, I fell in love with the rec. center, library, 2 skate parks, running trails, splash pad and parks that would all be within walking distance from our house. I knew it was where we were supposed to be. Once our town home finally sold, we were able to put a deposit on the lot we wanted! Our lot has a beautiful view of the Wasatch Mountains, and according to the plans there is supposed to be a church parking lot directly behind us, which will allow us to have this beautiful un-obstructed view every night.

Then came the most stressful part of the entire building process - the design center. We were given two one-hour appointments with the designer to plan your entire house. Just TWO. TWO HOURS...that's it. To go over all 3,000 square feet of our house. Stressful? You bet!

Of course I had been looking online for the perfect kitchen design, wall and cabinet colors, stucco colors, etc. But it's completely different when you are sitting there with hundreds of color samples, half of them looking exactly like the other.

Trevor has had an opinion on a lot of the structural options and a few of the colors, but for the most part, has left choosing the colors of our house up to me. Of course I have had many nights of tossing and turning hoping that I have chosen the perfect colors for the house that we hope to grow old in. Hopefully once we see it all start to come together, I will stop second guessing everything. Design center aside, it is so exciting to be building our house! We cannot wait to move in!

Arriving in August

What changes 2015 has brought for Trevor and I so far! For starters....

WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!!

Three positive pregnancy tests later... and a trip to the doctor, it was confirmed...

We are due August 9th and seriously couldn't be more excited! And really... totally shocked!
After 4 doctors telling us that it would take at least 6 months to get pregnant and that I would most definitely need fertility drugs, we got pregnant just a month and a half after deciding to give it a shot.

Babies first photo! About 5 weeks pregnant

We feel extremely blessed and grateful that it was as easy and as stressless as it was.
We cannot wait to begin this journey!

Stolen!

I've said this before and I'll say it again- I am the worst blogger ever. EVER! I Facebook and Instagram every day, but I cannot seem to blog. Hmmm... New Years resolution, perhaps??

These last few months have been chaotic with moving into Trevors parents house, both Trevor and I starting school and working full time. I will slowly begin updating my blog starting today (hopefully)..

This first post is incredibly long  somewhat lengthy, so get comfortable.
Back in August while Trevor and I were at the gym, my gym locker was broken into and my purse was stolen. I carry everything in my purse. My kindle, makeup, glasses, iPhone... (I had every picture since Trevor and I were married on that phone. Our first holidays together, Camping trips, vacations... everything.)

This particular night I had put my wedding ring in my purse while I was working out, like I've done numerous times. It was GONE. Trevor had trusted me to take good care of his grandmas diamond and not even a year later it was stolen. I was devastated. After filling out police reports, I went home and instantly starting contacting the news and radio stations asking for help finding this woman. By the next day, my Facebook post had over 25,000 shares and KSL was coming over to do a story about it. It aired the next day:

I knew it was a long shot of ever getting it back, but I wasn't giving up hope of at least catching her and sending her to jail. I spent night and day on eBay hoping they were trying to sell it, I was following people into pawn shops  and may have followed a few home thinking they were my thief. For weeks, I was obsessed with catching this girl.

LOOONG story short, 36 days after my ring was stolen, my detective called saying he had caught her. She had a criminal record and had already been arrested 19 times. She admitted to stealing my purse, throwing everything else away, but said she sold my ring to Tresor in Gateway mall for $250...TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS!
She and the detective went down to the store, where the store owner lied about having it (then admitted to having it after the detective threatened them) pulled out receipts that they themselves had forged that said they had bought it for $650.00... it was a MESS! Eventually I was able to drive down there and identify the ring, also bringing Amy, who is a jeweler, along to identify my diamond.
My detective was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and worked night and day on this case. I may or may not have called him every single day, asking for an update- so I'm sure he is thrilled that he doesn't have to deal with me anymore!

KSL did a follow up interview with me, and my story was plastered all over the internet.
Wedding ring recovered, owner makes deal with alleged thief

I was interviewed on the Z Morning Zoo on 97.1
My story was on the front page of the Daily Herald.

My story was in the newspaper in Boston, New Jersey,Denver, Idaho, Chicago, Florida, New York, even The U.K! There is even a little YouTube video about my story!

I am beyond grateful to have this bad boy back on my hand. It has been over 2 months since I got it back, and I still catch myself looking down at it and smiling. Thank goodness for second chances... I will never again leave my ring anywhere but in a safe at home.
